John H. Robinson, 1921-2003, Sedalia

John H. Robinson, 82, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003.

He was born July 8, 1921, in Blue Lick, a son of Andrew and Anna Belle Rice Robinson. In 2002, he was married to Gladys Cason, who survives of the home.

Mr. Robinson was a heavy equipment operator for Missouri Union Pacific Railroad. He was proud of the safety awards he received from the railroad. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed helping others.

Also surviving are his stepchildren, Carol Manly, Phyliss Heard, Iris Dougans and Charles Cason; a sister, Beatrice Robinson; a brother, Joseph Robinson; and several stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Alexander-May Funeral Home, with Bishop E.T. Sims officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Newbill, Charles Taylor, Terrance Cline, James Montgomery, Virgil Taylor and Ron Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Harrison Frye, Christine Njuko, Marilyn Jones, Emma Sheley and Josephine Ross. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Marshall. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
